Over the years I have learned that writing and illustrating books for children gives me great pleasure. I especially like whimsy because of the joy I see on faces of those children I read to.
When I first published "Perry the Pack Rat Finds a Friend" and the books came to my home, I was stunned. I hadn't considered while ordering so many books, as a self published Author, I would be required to market them. But, seeing my first work in print was so exciting, nothing seemed impossible, and selling them has been an adventure.
Perry has a loyal following that I look forward to seeing each holiday season. While they wait patiently for my next book, I try to offer these friends a new and special piece of artwork each year.
For the 2009 season while reviewing some paintings, I thought of trying a line of note cards. I enjoy the challenge of painting various subjects for cards and have been especially pleased with my Honey Bee designs.
I will always write books for children, and I have several new stories already written, with two fully illustrated. When I find a printer in the USA, I will be very pleased to share "Throwaway Dog". Meanwhile, please enjoy the cards.
