Meet Mardell E. Alberico

After years of trying different art mediums, I have learned that writing and illustrating is what satisfies my heart. And though for me, it is not always easy, it is always fulfilling.

Seeing my first painting professionally framed left me speechless. When my first pallet of Perry the Pack Rat books arrived, I couldn’t breathe, and I am always filled with awe when my artwork is something people want. But, one of my most thrilling moments was to acknowledge that I am an Author, Illustrator, and Publisher.

Perry has a loyal following, for which I am profoundly grateful, and who I look forward to seeing yearly at holiday events. While they patiently wait for my next book, I try to offer these friends something new and special each season.

For the 2009 season, using paintings I had stored, I designed a line of note cards. To my delight, the cards were a hit and after the holiday season, I was getting new orders. Requests from a wildlife refuge had me busy with new designs and I now have a note card business I call “Small Talk”.

My plan is to add cards for occasions soon, and I will always do children’s books, for which I have a backlog of stories written, with two already illustrated. As soon as I am comfortable with this economy, I will take that next big step. Meanwhile, please enjoy the cards.
